Immunotherapy is effective only in IgE-mediated diseases such as allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma and stinging insect anaphylaxis.

Successful therapy require years to reach maximal benefit. Efficacy is dose dependent .

Either sublingual route (SLIT) and subcutaneous route(SCIT) could be used in clinical practice.

Allergen(s) in the patient’s indoor and outdoor environments could display local and regional difference.

Risk factors for systemic reaction such as of uncontrolled or severe asthma or high allergen exposure need to be considered.
